This post is a work in progress and will be updated.

I recently have been thinking about different ways to understand the world around us. There are many, with the most prominent being a literal, planet/solar system interpretation of physical reality. While this is obviously helpful and necessary in many ways & cases, I am proposing that it may not actually be the most helpful in every case, and that a better approach may be a methodology I’m calling Semantic Worlds.

Semantic Worlds is based on some observations I’ve been ruminating on recently. I will outline them below.

  1. Emotional perception has a stronger effect on physical perception than mere knowledge. What I mean by this is that the way you feel about a given space, say, a neighborhood, tends to have more effect on the way you experience, reason about, and remember that space than just head knowledge about it.

  2. Physical and Simulated Realities are both perceieved entirely inside the human brain.
